----------以下はGary氏のコメント転送------------ His name was Mr. J. When I lived in Japan I saw him almost everyday. He lived in, and I was told he owned, a condominium building next to the Tokyo Biblical Church where I worked. Weather permitting, he would be outside sweeping or cleaning up in front of his building. And he always cleaned up in front of the church too. Each time he saw me he would cheerfully greet me. He taught me or forced me to learn some basic Japanese greetings and departure phrases.
Tatsuo invited him to sit for our drawing classes as a model. Then Tatsuo used him in a series of paintings he was doing for an exhibition in Tokyo. He used him for Simeon holding the baby Jesus.
Tatsuo sent me the last picture taken of Mr. J.
Tatsuo invited him to come to church and he began attending from time to time. Recently he was at the Wednesday eve prayer meeting and Tatsuo prayed with him. He was such a blessing to so many and to me that I pray that by God's grace and mercy he is now being blessed in his rest. He died suddenly not long after this last picture was taken. I just wanted to remember him. The world continues on but I will not forget.
